Amsterdam-Paris-Lyon-
GrenobleGrenoble was the 4th place we visited, but I had to skip right to it because it is my favorite of all the places we went. If you haven't heard of it, it is a pretty large city an hour and a half south of Lyon. It is also surrounded by the Alps. The pictures below illustrate our travels from our friend "Yo's" high rise apartment to the summit of the "Deux Soeurs" (two sisters). The one sister we were on was named "Sophie".

This is the view from Yo's place. It was spectalular and a near 360 degrees of mountain view.

This little house is available for anyone to stay in. It is maintained purely by those who use it. It can sleep about 6-8 people and has a fire place.
This is Alan (left) and Yo... getting closer to the cloudy top.

Looking down at the path we just traversed.

Me and Alan resting on a very steep and narrow gravel path. If one rock falls you must yell "Pierre!!!!" which means Rock!
These rocks also served as a good surface to "ski" on the way back down- lots of fun!

This is almost the top. Up in the distance is a peak that was originally our destination, but it was another 1.5 hours away, so we went to a closer ridge instead.

It was a beautiful view to say the least. We climbed about 800 meters to a peak that was well over 2000 meters. We did end up being inside of a cloud- cool... and windy. The total hike was about 4 hours there and back.
